Subject: In Support of Bill 167 - Non-Mineral Sunscreen Bill
Hello Climate Resilience &Natural Management Committee Members,
I am a frequent visitor to your great state and county,
One of the first things I do upon landing in Hawaii is put on board shorts and drop into the water to snorkel and enjoy
your underwater wildlife. Fish, turtles, marine mammals and coral are all affected directly by non-mineral based
sunscreens.
Anything you can do to keep the flora and fauna healthy is a boon to your economy, makes me and many others
happy, and shows your commitment to the health of all of the islands' inhabitants, including the humans.
Please advance this bill and do everything you can to make sure it becomes law. With so many other factors
imperiling the oceans, many of which you cannot control, it only makes sense to do what is within your powers.
