I have been snorkeling the reef at Kahalu'u Bay for aver 9 years now and live here in Kona. I have seen many days at Kahalu'u where
the chemical sunscreen is so thick on the surface of the water you can taste it. I personally have spoken with almost every manager
at Safeway asking them to stop advertising these chemical sunscreens as reef safe and to please stop selling this crap in our small
town.Tourists do not read the labels or know about this issue. Please stop these toxic substances from entering our precious reefs at
the state level by banning the sale and use of these chemicals asap before it is too late. I care a lot about this place. Please care too.
Hawaii's reefs need you to care.
