The regular meeting of the Committee on Parks and Recreation and Public
ORDER:
Safety was called to order at 9:00 a.m., in the Council Chambers, Kailua-Kona,
by Mr. Holeka Goro Inaba, Chair.

And we'll move on to Communication 176.15.
COMMUNI- The Chair directed the Committee to proceed to the next order of business,

Comm. 176.15: REQUESTS A PRESENTATION OF THE JUNE 2022 HAWEO AWARD TO
THOMAS CLARK, EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES WAREHOUSE
CLERK — HAWAI`I FIRE DEPARTMENT

Motion to Close File: Ms. Lee Loy moved to close file on Comm. 176.15.
Seconded by Mr. Kaneali`i-Kleinfelder.

CHR. INABA: Good morning our Hawaii Fire Department `ohana, we're so
happy to have you folks here today. And at this time I'd like to call upon
Captain Lam and our recipient to come up to the front table. This is kind of our
normal proceeding, normal process for our Haweo Award. And Captain Lam if
you'd be so kind to introduce our awardee, and a little bit of mo`olelo on why
he's before us today. Thank you first of all, for nominating him.
CERTIFICATE OF (Note: At this time, the June 2022 HAWEO Award was presented
APPRECIATION: to Thomas Clark, Emergency Medical Services Warehouse Clerk,
Hawaii Fire Department, in recognition of going above and beyond the
call of duty. Fire Captain Michael Lam came forward and provided
statements regarding his exceptional activities in service to the
community. Chair Inaba provided a celebratory Hawaiian Chant.)
CHR. INABA: With that, there's a motion on the floor to close file on
Communication 176.15. All those in favor, please say "aye."
