The Island of Hawaii YMCA is grateful to the County of Hawai'i and this year's Grant
in Aid, Ad-Hoc Committee for the financial assistance and awards. This year's
process, while different, aspires to be a catalyst for positive change across many
sectors and lays the foundation for better collaboration between public, private and
philanthropic partnerships.
This year's Ad-Hoc asked thorough thoughtful questions about our program
especially the critical questions of other barriers our programs are challenged with,
and we look forward to more collaboration to bridging these gaps.
The YMCA's Family Visitation Center continues to provide a vital service to the
community. Families with children who have been affected by domestic violence
participate in the program provided by the YMCA. Providing a safe, non-
threatening nurturing environment for child exchanges and supervised visits remain
our utmost priority.
