GOMM.655 May 27, 2022 RE: Communication No. 633.6 Councilmember Sue Lee Loy, Chair, and members of the Human Services and Social Services Committee: We are grateful to the County of Hawaii and this year's Grant in Aid,Ad-Hoc Committee for the financial assistance and awards. The committee's recommendation to fund West Hawaii Mediation Center's program for Community Mediation and Peer Mediation has my full support. This year's process, while different, aspires to be a catalyst for positive change across many sectors and lays the foundation for better collaboration between, public, private, and philanthropic partnerships. This fits West Hawaii Mediation Centers purpose to help people and communities resolve conflict. This year's Ad-Hoc asked thorough, thoughtful questions about critical needs facing our community and the way our programs connect to those needs. WHMC remains a crucial partner in building healthy and safe communities. Sincerely, Mary Charlene Nishida o Board Member .€ —C West Hawaii Mediation Center (808) 216-1028 kpueo@yahoo.com c Comm. 108.
