Aloha,
My name is Kimi Palacio and I'm testifying in SUPPORT of Bill 159.
As a homeowner and resident of Hawaiian Paradise Park (HPP), I am in full support of Bill 159, which will
allow Hawai'i County to move forward on the development of a district park. As you all know, HPP is a
large (if not, THE largest) residential subdivision in Hawai'i Island. Our residents deserve a safe,
recreational space.that will benefit all individuals and families in our community. Having a district park that
is conveniently located within the subdivision will also reduce the need for residents to travel, which will
reduce traffic — a continuous point of stress for those of us who live in the Puna district. Recreation
promotes health and wellness and brings together'ohana and community members. I am excited to see
this project moving forward.
