Subject: County Council June 1, 2022 Meeting
My name is Trillium Simington and I am testifying in STRONG SUPPORT of Bill 159.
As a homeowner and resident of Hawaiian Paradise Park (HPP), I am in full support of Bill 159, which will
allow Hawaii County to move forward on the development of a district park. The residents of HPP deserve
a safe, recreational space that will benefit all individuals and families in our community. Having a park that
is conveniently located within the subdivision will reduce the need for residents to travel, which will reduce
traffic — a continuous point of stress for those of us who live in the Puna district. For too long we have
needed a place for families to gather that promotes a healthy lifestyle in our community. Thank you for
this opportunity to testify.
