Subject: Support of Bill 167
Aloha,
I am a father of two beautiful children. I am writing not just for myself but for them as well!Anyway,we can protect this
environment so they can enjoy it with their keiki I support! Every time I take them to the beach and see people spraying that awful
sunblock I am appalled that it has not already been banned. Crazy that I have to tell them to not breath as they walk past.Anything
that is detrimental to health of our people and this beautiful island has no place being sold here. It is time for our leaders to take
action.
Healthy coral reefs protect our islands coastal infrastructure, beaches and community.The chemical compounds contained and non-
mineral sunscreen inhibit coral growth and degrade the integrity of our reefs.This ordinance aims to preserve the health,safety and
welfare of humans and the environment by allowing only mineral sunscreens to be provided,sold, offered for sale or distributed in
the county of Hawaii. I submit my testimony and strong support of Bill 167. Mahalo Nui!
