Subject: I Support Bill 167 -
I am in strong support of Bill 167. Healthy coral reefs protect the island's coastal infrastructure, beaches, and
community. The chemical compounds contained in non-mineral sunscreen inhibit coral growth and degrade the
integrity of reefs, not to mention, are poisoning human and environmental health! The purpose of this ordinance is to
preserve the health, safety, and welfare of humans and the environment, by allowing only mineral sunscreens to be
provided, sold, offered for sale, or distributed in the County. May the rest of the world follow suit. Thank you for
helping Hawaii to lead by example! It's devastating to see the damage that has already been done, may we take this
critical action to help stop further devastation and begin the healing process!
