Aloha County Council Members
Forgive my delay in my testimony.
Dear County Council Members
I am a kama'aina in Strong Support of Bill 167. We have a chance at creating a safer option for our island. To live in
harmony better through the choices we make for our sun protective behaviors. By staying away from the two O's and
using a 2 ingredient mineral sunscreen we can share space and support our ocean ecosystem better. This is an easy
path forward towards a regenerative coral reef. We can save the direction we are currently heading towards, a total
food collapse and rather support a new path towards actual revitalizing methods to head towards a thriving and
abundant future for ALL.
Healthy coral reefs protect our island's coastal infrastructure,beaches, and community. The chemical compounds
contained in non-mineral sunscreen inhibit coral growth and degrade the integrity of our reefs. The purpose of this
ordinance is to preserve the health, safety, and welfare of humans and the environment, by allowing oxj
sunscreens to be provided, sold, offered for sale, or distributed in the County.
