Subject: Support of Bill 167: Ban of non-mineral sunscreens
Chair Maile David and Co-Chair Aaron Chung and members of the County Council:
We strongly support Bill 167, allowing only mineral sunscreens to be provided,sold,and distributed in Hawaii County. Healthy coral
reefs protect our island's infrastructure, and are vitally important to the health our beaches and community. The chemical
compounds in non-mineral based sunscreens inhibit coral growth and degrade the integrity of our reefs.
We urge you to vote"YES"for Bill 167.
