Being an avid scuba and freediver, I've seen the damage to our reefs with my own eyes. It was especially interesting to see how things can bounce back without the negative impact of non mineral sunscreens when visitors were limited during the first phase of Covid. Such a difference. I've worked in advocating for coral reef health and promotion of non mineral sunscreens. I've been part of survey programs that determine how much people truly believe the false marketing of these sunscreens which claim to be "reef friendly". It is exciting to see that these chemicals are continuing to be banned and that there is hope to removing this impact from our reefs to give them more of a fighting chance against other impacts.
