RESOLUTION NO. 451 22
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE NOMINATION OF MEMBERS TO THE
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND THE
WESTERN INTERSTATE REGION BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
WHEREAS, Hawai`i County is a member of the Hawai`i State Association of Counties
(HSAC),the National Association of Counties (NACo), and the Western Interstate Region
(WIR); and
WHEREAS, the HSAC Executive Committee, on June 16, 2022, approved nominees for
the NACo Board of Directors and the WIR Board of Directors for the respective terms beginning
July 1, 2022; and
WHEREAS, HSAC Bylaws state that Council approval is required to approve the
nomination of representatives to the NACo Board of Directors and the WIR Board of Directors;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Tommy Waters and KipuKai Kuali`i are approved to serve on the NACo Board of Directors for
the term beginning July 1, 2022.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Susan Lee Loy and Shane Sinenci are approved to
serve on the WIR Board of Directors for the term beginning July 1, 2022.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the President and the Secretary of the Hawai`i State Association of Counties.
