COUNTY OF HAWAII -•_ / • STATE OF HAWAII ,rE OFMF'� RESOLUTION NO. 457 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO SPECIAL OLYMPICS HAWAII INC. TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO THE SPECIAL OLYMPICS WEST HAWAII AWARDS RECOGNITION AND SPORTS SIGN-UP EVENT. WHEREAS, Special Olympics Hawai`i Inc. is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children and adults with disabilities by improving their quality of life through sports; and WHEREAS, Special Olympics Hawai`i Inc. is requesting funds to assist with expenses for awards, meals, refreshments, and flyers for the Special Olympics West Hawai`i Awards Recognition and Sports Sign-up event that will be held on January 28, 2023; and WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports programs that provide programs, educational activities, and community events in a drug-free and alcohol-free environment, such as the Special Olympics West Hawai`i Awards Recognition and Sports Sign- up event; and WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Special Olympics Hawai`i Inc. to assist with expenses related to the Special Olympics West Hawai`i Awards Recognition and Sports Sign-up event. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
