RESOLUTION NO. 457
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO SPECIAL OLYMPICS
HAWAII INC. TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO THE SPECIAL
OLYMPICS WEST HAWAII AWARDS RECOGNITION AND SPORTS SIGN-UP
EVENT.
WHEREAS, Special Olympics Hawai`i Inc. is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization
dedicated to helping children and adults with disabilities by improving their quality of life
through sports; and
WHEREAS, Special Olympics Hawai`i Inc. is requesting funds to assist with expenses
for awards, meals, refreshments, and flyers for the Special Olympics West Hawai`i Awards
Recognition and Sports Sign-up event that will be held on January 28, 2023; and
WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports programs that provide
programs, educational activities, and community events in a drug-free and alcohol-free
environment, such as the Special Olympics West Hawai`i Awards Recognition and Sports Sign-
up event; and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Department of
Liquor Control to provide a grant to Special Olympics Hawai`i Inc. to assist with expenses
related to the Special Olympics West Hawai`i Awards Recognition and Sports Sign-up event.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
