A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE DONATION OF QUIDEL QUICK VUECOVID-19 HOME TEST KITS FROM THE STATE OF HAWAI‘I DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH TO THE HAWAI‘I COUNTY CIVIL DEFENSE
AGENCY
WHEREAS, the State of Hawai‘i Department of Health is donating 8,000 Quidel Quick Vue COVID-19 home test kits to the County of Hawai‘i; and
WHEREAS, these test kits, with an estimated value of $91,120, will be utilized to provide testing options to low-income households, rural communities, and County of Hawai‘i staff; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai‘i County Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other personal
property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawai‘i County Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities,
or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Civil Defense Agency recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai‘i County Charter, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a)
of the Hawai‘i County Code, the Council of the County of Hawai‘i accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Civil Defense Agency, the Department of Finance, and the Office of the Mayor.
