Subject: TESTIMONY IN SUPPORT OF BILL 167
Aloha Chair Maile David, Co-Chair Aaron Chung, and the members of the County Council,
I am writing today in support of BILL 167 AMENDING CHAPTER 14 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE
1983 (2016 EDITION, ASAMENDED), BYADDINC A NEW ARTICLE RELATING TO PROHIBITION OF NON-
ffNERAL SUNSCREEN.
Non-mineral sunscreen is known to be the cause of severe health degradation of our essential coral reefs in addition to
them not actually protecting users from skin cancer. Only mineral sunscreens should be provided, sold, or distributed
by the county. I support protecting both humans and more-than-human beings by supporting Bill 167.
Mahalo nui,
