Subject: Support for Bill 167 - PLEASE TAKE ACTION TO PROTECT OUR REEFS AND KEAUHOU BAY!
I am in Strong Support of Bill 169. The coral reef is the rainforest of our ocean. Plankton provide 50%of each breath we take and is the
vital beginnings of our food chain in the ocean and on land!
Healthy coral reefs protect our island's coastal infrastructure,beaches,and community. The chemical compounds contained in non-mineral
sunscreen inhibit coral growth and degrade the integrity of our reefs. The purpose of this ordinance is to preserve the health,safety,and welfare
of humans and the environment,by allowing only mineral sunscreen to be provided,sold,offered for sale,or distributed in the County. We can
protect both human and coral health with this Bill 167.
