Aloha,
The main argument against passing Bill 167 -banning polutive sun screens - is that there are other things damaging
the ocean and this bill will only stop some of it.
This argument leads to foolish logic that does nothing to conserve ocean resources. It's like keeping an
alcohol addiction because you also smoke cigarettes.
The fact is local governance needs to start somewhere removing streams of pollution from our ocean. The removal of
lethal chemicals distributed to our reef from pollutive sunscreens is a wonderful first step towards stopping all forms
of pollution. Let's start somewhere!!
