Subject: Bill 167 Support
Aloha Council Members,
I am writing in support of Bill 167. Please support this Bill to help ensure the health of our fragile coral
reefs for now and the future. We depend on healthy coral reefs for our own island sustainability as well as
tourism.
Healthy coral reefs protect our island's coastal infrastructure, beaches, and community. The chemical
compounds contained in non-mineral sunscreen inhibit coral growth and degrade the integrity of our
reefs. The purpose of this ordinance is to preserve the health, safety, and welfare of humans and the
environment, by allowing only mineral sunscreens to be provided, sold, offered for sale, or distributed in
the County. I ask for your strong support.
