I'am in Strong support of Bill 167. If I had it my way, I would ban all chemical sunscreen products in our fragile ocean. But, regardless, known here is A'ole to non-mineral sunscreen, as a compromise. It is a public trust that must be managed for the benefit of present and future generations. A huge concern is the lifeblood of this land. Growing up in Hawaii Beaches. We were always told if we had any skin itches or cuts, to go to the ocean to cleanse. Now along the Kona coast, I tell everyone to stay out of the ocean. As a Kanaka Maoli, born in the territory of Hawaii, owning Kona's first Surf Shop since 1978. I strive to protect our waters. ( Healthy Ocean, coral, sea creatures, humans too) It is the State and its political powers that has the responsibility to Protect Hawaii's natural beauty, and all natural resources, including land, WATER, air, mineral and energy sources, and shall promote the development and utilization of these'resources in a manner consistent with their conservation and in furtherance of the self-sufficiency of the State. All public natural resources are held by the State for the people. Haw. Cont. art. X!,S 1. Mahalo, Simmy McMichael cat Comm. o. , Ref. To: n w — Ref. Date--"UN 1 5 2022 1
