Subject: Ban harmful sunscreens
I am a resident of the big island and a former reef teacher at Kahalu'u beach park,
As a reef reacher, we are always asking our visitors to please use only reef safe sunscreens and we even provided
samples for them to use. We even provided an exchange system so they could discard their sunscreens and take our
safe sunscreens,
Our coral and marine life are precious to all of us living here. Global warming is something beyond our control but
we can control what goes into our ocean. Please support the ban on harmful sunscreens. Our obligation is to protect
our Aina and the sea creatures that depend on the coral for survival.
