Dear County Council Members,
In strong support of Bill 1671 would like to clarify a few things.
The county council of Maui unanimously passed a similar bill just a few months ago. UNANIMOUSLY....
It seems that the lobbyists that oppose Bill 167 represent companies that, in addition to chemical based products,
already manufacture and sell products that are mineral only based.
Every single large manufacturer of the chemical based products already has a Mineral Based sunscreen in their
product line ups and would certainly be able to continue selling it when Bill 167 is passed.
Access to mineral based sunscreens that have already been found to be safe and effective would continue when Bill
167 is passed. No-one would be denied access to sunscreen products that have been found to be safe and effective by
the FDA.
Please support passage of Bill 167. There really doesn't seem to be any valid reason not to.
