Subject: Hawaii county needs to Implement Complete Streets and Vision Zero Action Plan now!
Aloha my name is David Carbon,
I live in Hilo and want to see our town become safer for Keiki, bikers, and pedestrians.
With Waianueanue being repaved we need to add bike lanes to protect our Keiki and citizens who ride bikes and
mobility scooters. There already is a plan to install bike paths so the county should obey the laws and follow the
plan. Not everyone drives cars and having bike lanes will protect vulnerable bikers and children who ride bikes
through town daily. Waianuenue is where two schools are located so it makes sense to have bike lanes for children to
ride to and from school safely. Hilo will be a better and safer place with more bike lanes. Please implement the
complete streets and vision zero action plan to make Hilo a more livable and bikeable city.
