It's wonderful to see this proposal to support the dedicated people=who have been putting time, energy, and sometimes their
own money into caring for our special lands.
I hope Council will ask these questions:
In the future, will the Finance Department take over doing maintenance grants?
® How can we ensure that future grants are awarded in a timely manner?This will (1)give people the support they
need to care for the land, and (2) prevent unspent money from pushing the maintenance fund over the $3 million cap
where excess money must be sent into the general fund,
