Aloha,
I'm writing to submit late testimony in support of Bill 152. We need a robust brave solution to our housing crisis in
Hawaii that is sustainable for our community. A consistent immovable fund will guarantee funding for affordable
housing into perpetuity—appropriate where we know we will need affordable housing especially will be necessary
during times of economic downturn.
I also ask that the counsel passes any housing bills supporting funds for refurbishing vacant homes for community use
(a more sustainable option for our community than new construction—that also addresses Big Islands
disproportionately high vacancy rate.
Thank you for hearing my testimony and supporting all housing bills that provide long term and radical solutions to
our housing crisis.
