I <br /> 3 <br /> ®�MqY OF k�W <br /> - 1 <br /> =v . <br /> itAOF.HA+Ii <br /> 3 <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAIII STATE OF HAWAFI <br /> 7 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 469 22 <br /> i <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO MALAMA O PUNA <br /> FOR EXPENSES RELATED TO THE MAINTENANCE AND BEAUTIFICATION OF <br /> THE RENE SIRACUSA PAHOA ROUNDABOUT. <br /> WHEREAS, Malama O Puna is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to <br /> provide community resources to maintain a safe and healthy community through environmental <br /> education, hands-on projects, advocacy, watchdogging, and land trusting; and <br /> WHEREAS, Malama O Puna has taken initiative and catalyzed community-driven <br /> beautification of the Rene Siracusa Pdhoa Roundabout by coordinating donations of native <br /> vegetation and materials, and organizing volunteers to upkeep the scenery; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Rene Siracusa Pdhoa Roundabout relies on community partnerships and <br /> volunteers for consistent maintenance and stewardship to preserve its beautification efforts; and <br /> WHEREAS, Malama O Puna is requesting funds to assist with the purchase of tools, <br /> equipment, and supplies for the maintenance and beautification of the Rene Siracusa Pdhoa <br /> Roundabout; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports community-based programs that <br /> promote education, health, safety, and well-being in drug-free, and alcohol-free venues; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated Department of Liquor <br /> Control to provide a grant to Malama O Puna to assist with expenses related to the maintenance <br /> and beautification of the Rene Siracusa Pdhoa Roundabout. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
