Re: Resolution for multi-year lease
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the payment of funds for more than one fiscal year,
for a new multi-year lease agreement for one multifunction color copy machine for the
Department of Liquor Control's Kona office. The monthly cost will be approximately
$150.

A. REQUEST:
Enter into a five-year lease agreement for a multi-function color copy machine to be located at the Dept. of
Liquor Control office, 75-5706 Kuakini Highway, Unit 103, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The lease for the current device will end in December 2022. This is the only device in the Kona office and is
being used for digital copying, scanning and faxing and network printing. The office does not have any other
equipment. The cost per month for a new device will be approximately$150/mo.

Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
