Your Committee on Finance,to which was referred Resolution No. 448-22,reports as follows:
Resolution No. 448-22,transmitted by Council Member MaileDavid via Communication No. 855
dated June 28, 2022, awards a Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources Preservation
Maintenance Fund stewardship grant to Ho`omalu Ka`u.
This resolution approves a grant of$18,150 to Ho`omalu Ka`u, a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization,to
protect, preserve, and restore the Kahua `Olohu Kaunamano property in Ka`u,pursuant to
Section 10-16(h) of the Hawai`i County Charter.
Ms. David provided comments thanking Ho`omalu Ka`u Board Member Keoni Fox and Finance
Property Manager Hamana Ventura for their work on the measure.
Pursuant to Section 10-16(h), an award of a Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources
Preservation Maintenance Fund stewardship grant shall be by Council resolution.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 448-22, and
recommends its adoption.
