Your Committee on Finance,to which was referred Resolution No. 449-22,reports as follows:
Resolution No. 449-22,transmitted by Council Member Maile David via Communication No. 856
dated June 28, 2022, awards a Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources Preservation
Maintenance Fund stewardship grant to Friends of Amy B.H. Greenwell Ethnobotanical Garden.
This resolution approves a grant of$191,609 to Friends of Amy B.H. Greenwell Ethnobotanical
Garden, a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization,to protect,preserve, and restore the Amy B.H. Greenwell
Garden properties in South Kona,pursuant to Section 10-16(h) of the Hawai`i County Charter.
Ms. David provided comments thanking Friends of Amy B.H. Greenwell Ethnobotanical Garden
President Maile Melrose and Board Directors A. Rose Schilt and Alan Rolph for their work.
Ms. David also thanked Finance Property Manager Hamana Ventura for his help on the measure.
Pursuant to Section 10-16(h), an award of a Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources
Preservation Maintenance Fund stewardship grant shall be by Council resolution.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 449-22, and
recommends its adoption.
