Your Committee on Finance,to which was referred Resolution No. 450-22, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 450-22,transmitted by Council Member Ashley L.Kierkiewicz via Communication No. 857
dated June 28, 2022,transfers/appropriates an appropriation out and from a designated fund account and
credits same to a designated fund account in the Geothermal Relocation and Community Benefits Fund to
hire security for Isaac Kepo`okalani Hale Beach Park.
This resolution transfers $360,000 from the Geothermal Other Current Expenses account; and credits to
the Geothermal Parks&Recreation Other Current Expenses account.
Ms. Kierkiewicz provided a brief background on the measures and asked for the other members' support.
Committee Chair Matt Kaneali`i-Kleinfelder provided comments in support of the measure.
Pursuant to Section 2-181(5)(b),Hawaii County Code, allowable expenditures for public purposes under
the Geothermal Relocation and Community Benefits program shall be made in accordance with
appropriations adopted by the Council through recommendations from the Planning Director.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 450-22,and
recommends its adoption.
