COUNTY OF HAWA sI STATE OF I- AWAI`I ,r ®F^HwN RESOLUTION NO. 479 22 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATEDFUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANTT `U KAKOU FOR ITS 7th ANNUAL KA'V COFFEE TRAIL RUN. WHEREAS, `O Ka`d Kakou (OKK) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that sponsors and supports community activities in the district of Ka`u that enhance the quality of life and build economic development opportunities for the people of Ka`u ; and WHEREAS, OKK is hosting its 7th Annual Ka`u Coffee Trail Run on September 17, 2022, which will host runners from around the world on a challenging course that meanders over Pahala's unpaved trials, through coffee fields,pasture lands, macadamia nut orchards, eucalyptus and ohia forest; and WHEREAS, OKK is requesting funds to assist with food, drinks, t-shirts and other costs directly related to its 7th annual Ka`u Coffee Trail Run; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and programs that promote health, safety, and welfare of the community through alcohol-, tobacco-, and drug-free activities; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to `O Ka`u Kakou for its 7th Annual Ka`u Coffee Trail Run. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
