U STATE OF HAWAIII RESOLUTION NO. 488 22 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE DANIEL R. SAYRE MEMORIAL FOUNDATION TO PURCHASE OCEAN SAFETY EQUIPMENT FOR THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT OCEAN SAFETY DIVISION. WHEREAS,the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing essential equipment and training to the Hawaii Fire Department to help save lives; and WHEREAS, since its inception in 1997, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation has raised millions of dollars in donations to enhance the Hawaii Fire Department, which is vital to its fire-fighting operations and ocean safety rescue; and WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is requesting funds to purchase two Yamaha watercraft, trailers, and tow boards for the Hawaii Fire Department Ocean Safety Division; and WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department mission is to provide exceptional, all hazards emergency services to the residents and visitors of the Hawaii Island; and WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, material, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Hawaii Fire Department to provide a grant to the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation to purchase ocean safety equipment for the Hawaii Fire Department Ocean Safety Division. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
