HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 484 Draft 01 2020-2022 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO KAILUA VILLAGE BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT INC. FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES FOR ITS 4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS DISPLAY. WHEREAS, the Kailua Village Business Improvement District Inc. (KVBID) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to make historic Kailua Village a model sustainable community and a better place to invest, work, live, and play; and WHEREAS, KVBID, in partnership with the Kailua-Kona Community Parade Association and Fireworks Committee, coordinated this year’s 4th of July parade and fireworks display to celebrate America’s great day of independence; and WHEREAS, KVBID is requesting funds as a reimbursement for expenses incurred from conducting its 4th of July fireworks display; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports public events that provide safe, enjoyable activities and encourages community camaraderie; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai‘i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to Kailua Village Business Improvement District Inc. for reimbursement of expenses for its 4th of July fireworks display. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: FUND: General       AMOUNT OF APPROPRIATION:  $500       OUT AND FROM:    010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC – Contingency Relief $500      CREDITED TO:    010.500.5503.02 Department of Parks and Recreation $500   P&R Admin OCE    115 Misc. Contract Services    (KVBID – 4th of July Fireworks Display)    BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
