RESOLUTION TO AMEND RESOLUTION 410-22 AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS TO AWARD FUNDS TO THE PEOPLES ADVOCACY FOR TRAILS HAWAI‘I, NOW KNOWN AS THE PEOPLE FOR ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION
HAWAI‘I
WHEREAS, Resolution 410-22, adopted on June 1, 2022, in accordance with Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-139(a)(3)(A) of the Hawai‘i County Code, authorized the Department of Public
Works to provide a grant of $907,500 to the Peoples Advocacy for Trails Hawai‘i (PATH) to expand the Hawai‘i Island Bikeshare system; and
WHEREAS, on July 29, 2021, the Peoples Advocacy for Trails Hawai‘i filed documents with the Department of Commerce & Consumer Affairs to change the entity’s name to People for Active
Transportation Hawai‘i; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works requests that all references in Resolution 410-22 citing the nonprofit organization as “Peoples Advocacy for Trails Hawai‘i” be identified as
“People for Active Transportation Hawai‘i”; and
WHEREAS, the People for Active Transportation Hawai‘i qualifies as a nonprofit organization; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I, that Resolution 410-22 be, and hereby is, amended to reflect all references of Peoples Advocacy for Trails Hawai‘i to be identified
instead as People for Active Transportation Hawai‘i.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in accordance with Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-139(a)(3)(A) of the Hawai‘i County Code, the Department of Public Works is authorized to provide a grant
of $907,500 to People for Active Transportation Hawai‘i to expand the Hawai‘i Island Bikeshare system.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawai‘i shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, the Department of Research and Development
and the Department of Finance.
