Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 471-22,reports as follows:
Resolution No. 471-22, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako via Communication No. 890, dated
July 15,2022, authorizes the Office of the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the State of Hawai`i
Department of the Attorney General pursuant to Hawai`i Revised Statutes Section 46-7, for a grant to the
Office of the Prosecuting Attorney.
This resolution allows for the receipt of$93,371, which would be used for the Victim-Witness
Assistance Program.
There was no discussion on the measure.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawai`i Revised Statutes, and Section 13-13, Hawai`i County Charter, the
Mayor is authorized to apply for,receive, and expend the funds for contracts with private parties, other
counties,the State, or the United States government for functions or activities which the County is
authorized to perform.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 471-22, and
recommends its adoption.
