Your Committee on Finance,to which was referred Bill No. 193, reports as follows:
Bill No. 193,transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako via Communication No. 890, dated
July 15, 2022, amends Ordinance No. 22-63, as amended,the Operating Budget for the County of
Hawai`i for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023.
This bill appropriates revenues in the State Grants—Victim/Witness Assistance account($93,371); and
appropriates the same to the Aid to Victims account. Funds would be used by the Office of the
Prosecuting Attorney for the Victim-Witness Assistance Program.
Committee Member Susan L. K. Lee Loy thanked the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney for its work to
secure grants to address crime and its effects.
Committee Chair Matt Kaneali`i-Kleinfelder thanked Program Manager Lisa Faulkner-Inouye of the
Prosecuting Attorney's office for her work.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 193, and recommends
its passage on first reading.
