HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 496 Draft 01 2020-2022A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE DANIEL R. SAYRE
MEMORIAL FOUNDATION TO PURCHASE TWO WATER SAFETY CRAFTS FOR THE HAWAIʻI COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT’S OCEAN SAFETY DIVISION.
WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing essential equipment and training to the Hawai‘i Fire Department to help
save lives; and
WHEREAS, since its founding in 1997, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation has raised millions of dollars in donations to purchase equipment and apparatus for the Hawai‘i Fire Department,
all of which are vital to its rescue and fire-fighting operations; and
WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is requesting funds to purchase two water safety crafts for the Hawaiʻi County Fire Department’s Ocean Safety Division; and
WHEREAS, the Hawai‘i Fire Department’s mission is to provide exceptional, all-hazards emergency services to the residents and visitors of Hawai‘i Island; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai‘i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying
the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Hawai‘i Fire Department to provide a grant to
the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation to purchase two water safety craft for the Ocean Safety Division of the Hawaiʻi County Fire Department.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
