Aloha Council,
On behalf our Our Revolution Hawaii's 5,000 members and supporters statewide, I am testifying in full support of the passage of Bill
120. Bill 120 will enforce state laws that call for EV chargers to be installed in large parking structures,for the stations to be
maintained,and for enforcement of rules related to parking in the designated stalls. When passed, Bill 120 will increase the number
of reliable charging stations around Hawaii island.This will allow for more equitable access to clean transportation and accelerate
our transition to EVs.
A growing number of Hawaii residents want to own EVs, however one of the major obstacles preventing an increase in EV owners is
the lack of charging stations. Passing Bill 120 is a prerequisite to increasing the number of working charging stations on Hawaii
Island.
In order to address the growing Climate Crisis and prevent perpetual Climate Chaos it is essential that we move away from planet
killing CO2 emitting gas fueled vehicles,and start driving EVs as quickly as possible. The longer we delay getting rid of CO2 emitting
vehicles the more expensive it is going to get to transition over to EVs.
It is better for our Climate and better for our economy to expand the number of EVs on the road,and to do that we need more well
maintained charging stations. This council can make this happen.
For the sake of your children's future,please pass Bill 120.
