Aloha, County Council Members.
I am writing to support your immediate passage of Bill 120, as amended. We
electric vehicle owners continue to face inadequately provided and maintained
public charging stations around our island. This limits our capacity to get to
required destinations for work, medical appointments, essentials shopping, as
well as our journeys for enjoyment of our public lands and destinations.
Hawaii still has a goal to reduce greenhouse gasses, and transportation is a
major factor. Reductions can be made by encouraging the use of non-fossil
fuel vehicles, and providing a strong infrastructure to support operation of
electric and other non-fossil fuel vehicles, as Bill 120 provides.
