Re: Capital Budget
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance to add the Banyan Drive SPS Rehab project.
This project is for the rehabilitation of the Banyan Drive sewage pump station.
The existing facility has exceeded its useful life. The new structure with above-
ground self-priming pumps and standby generator will replace the old
submerged "can" station. The new installation should reduce operating costs
and eliminate the need to enter confined space as part of the regulaz
maintenance.

A. REQUEST:
Amend Ordinance 99-71 to include the following wastewater public improvement
project to be funded by General Obligation Bonds, Capital Projects Fund
Balance, and/or other sources:
Banyan Drive SPS Rehab (re-appropriation): $ 199,634.00
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
1. These funds have been previously appropriated in Ordinance No. 96-125.
Project has been delayed due to design problems related to flood control in
tsunami zone. Design is now completed and ready for bid opening.
