RESOLUTION NO. 513 22
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE DANIEL R.
SAYRE MEMORIAL FOUNDATION TO PURCHASE WATER SAFETY EQUIPMENT
FOR THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT'S OCEAN SAFETY DIVISION.
WHEREAS,the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization whose mission is to provide fire, emergency, and rescue equipment and supplies to
the Hawaii Fire Department(HFD); and
WHEREAS, HFD has identified the need for additional water safety crafts and related
equipment to improve its Ocean Safety Division's readiness during emergency responses; and
WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is requesting funds to purchase
two water safety crafts, two supporting tow boards, and related equipment for HFD's Ocean
Safety Division; and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Hawaii Fire
Department to provide a grant to the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation to purchase water
safety equipment for the Hawaii Fire Department's Ocean Safety Division.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Fire Chief and Director of Finance,and that the Director of Finance is hereby
authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
