A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE GRASSROOTS COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT GROUP FOR EXPENSES RELATING TO THE 2022 HAWAI‘I ISLAND ALL NATIONS POWWOW.
WHEREAS, the Grassroots Community Development Group (GCDG) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works to strengthen communities through the cooperative development of programs
and services for East Hawai‘i, especially for youth and families; and
WHEREAS, GCDG is working on the logistics for the 2022 Hawai‘i Island All Nations Powwow, which is a free event scheduled to be held on September 17 and 18 in Hilo with approximately
130 participants from Canada and the continental United States; and
WHEREAS, GCDG is requesting funds to cover necessary expenses relating to the event, including, but not limited to, facility fees, food, and paper products; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports this event as it is in keeping with the goals and objectives of the department to promote safe, healthy, and drug- and alcohol-free
community activities; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai‘i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying
the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant
to the Grassroots Community Development Group for the 2022 Hawai‘i Island All Nations Powwow.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
