Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to submit the nomination of Charles H. Cope of Kona to the
Hawaii County Fire Board of Appeals to replace Herbert T. Hayama of Hilo,
whose term expired on December 31, 1998.
Mr. Cope is a 25-year resident of Hawaii and since 1981 has been employed as
a Fire Rescue Specialist with the Hawaii County Fire Department. He is a
member of the Hawaii Fire Fighters' Association, the Kona Orchid Society and
serves as an AYSO coach. He states that the has no political party affiliation.
If approved, Mr. Cope will serve the balance of the unexpired term, which will end
on December 31, 2003.
