.......�N, <br /> rt 4gyp;. <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII <br /> ..tt,�/_#' STATE OF HAWAII <br /> . . -� <br /> +r�TE•OP MFS-``- <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 517 22 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO VIBRANT HAWAII <br /> FOR ITS MAKAHIKI EVENT IN COUNCIL DISTRICT 9. <br /> n organizationbrings <br /> Vibrant Hawai`i is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that brigs <br /> community-based organizations, government, foundations, and businesses together to build <br /> awareness and implement strategies that are developed and resourced by the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, Vibrant Hawai`i has over 35 Resilience Hubs around Hawai`i Island, which <br /> are trusted, people-powered venues that adapt to the changing needs of the community and <br /> activate in times of disaster; and <br /> WHEREAS, Vibrant Hawai`i's Resilience Hubs in Council District 9 will host a public <br /> Makahiki event to re-establish community-led resilience and to restore ancestral practices of <br /> year-end reflection and celebration, resource inventory, data analysis, forecasting, and strategic <br /> planning; and <br /> WHEREAS,Vibrant Hawai`i is requesting funds to assist with the logistics of the <br /> Makahiki, including the purchase of safety and event supplies, awards, emergency prep kits, <br /> marketing materials, and facility insurance; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development supports the growth of a local <br /> economy that is diverse, stable, and in balance with Hawai`i's ecology, community character, and <br /> cultural heritage; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Research and Development to provide a grant to Vibrant Hawai`i to assist with its Makahiki <br /> event in Council District 9. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
