--,w. • 41, COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 518 22 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE ZONTA CLUB OF HILO FOUNDATION TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO ITS YOUTH- ORIENTED PROJECTS. WHEREAS,the Zonta Club of Hilo Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rofit or anization p g that supports the Zonta Club of Hilo and its mission to empower women and girls through public service and advocacy and to promote peaceful ways of problem solving; and WHEREAS, the Zonta Club of Hilo Foundation is hosting three youth-oriented projects during the 2022-2023 fiscal year that are geared towards preschoolers and adolescent girls; and WHEREAS,these three projects are: 1)the "Magnificent Me"is a conference to introduce middle school girls to confidence building tools and strategies; 2)the "Hands Are Not for Hitting, Hands Are for Helping" is a book project for preschoolers that promotes problem solving in a peaceful way; and 3)the "Amelia Earhart Girls in Engineering Day" is an event to encourage girls in fourth through eighth grade to continue STEM(science,technology, engineering, math) curriculums; and WHEREAS,the Zonta Club of Hilo Foundation is requesting funds to assist with expenses related to these projects, including transportation, lunch, snacks, and miscellaneous supplies and materials; and WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and programs that promote growth and learning in a.drug-free and alcohol-free environment; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Zonta Club of Hilo Foundation to assist with expenses relating to its youth-oriented projects. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
