RESOLUTION CREATING THREE (3) NEW FIRE COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER III (TEMPORARY) POSITIONS FOR THE HAWAI‘I COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Fire Department is in need of three (3) new Fire Communications Officer III (Temp) positions for training purposes; and
WHEREAS, these Fire Communications Officer III (Temp) positions will be unfunded and utilized for temporary assignment; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Communications Officer II personnel will be temporarily assigned to these positions to train new Fire Communications Officer I hires and conduct on-the-job training
for all fire and emergency medical services communications methods and procedures; and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawai‘i County Charter states that the Mayor has the power to “Create positions...for which appropriations have been made by the council...”;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that three (3) Fire Communications Officer III (Temporary) positions be created in the Hawai‘i County Fire Department.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawai‘i shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, the Fire Department, the Department of Human
Resources and the Department of Finance.
