Subject: Please support Bill 120!!!
I moved here over a year ago with a Model 3 Tesla and was appalled at the lack of infrastructure. My condo
complex in Waikoloa refuses to allow chargers or even extension cords, and I have no charging option at work in
Waimea. I was using the HELCO fast charger at the KTA, but it was down for months at a time, as was the DC
charger in Mauna Lani. This left me only with remote slow AC charging, which became so untenable I had to sell
my car.
On the mainland, there are far, far more options for public charging than here for non-homeowners, and Hawaii has
one of the highest per-capita EV ownership!
Please pass this bill, especially as Hawaii transitions to clean renewable energy!
