SUBJECT: Presentation of the September 2022 Hdweo Award to HPD Recipient
on September 20 2022—Parks and Recreation& Public Safety Committee
We are requesting approximately 20 minutes for presentation of the September 2022 Hdweo
Award to Ka`u Patrol Officer Xylon Takata of the Hawaii Police Department.
We request that this presentation take place on the Parks and Recreation and Public Safety
Committee on September 20, 2022, and that this committee be scheduled at 9:00 a.m. to better
accommodate the department's schedule.
The Hdweo Award Program recognizes employees of our Police and Fire `ohana that perform
their duties "above and beyond the call". "Hdweo"means to glow or to be radiant, and it is right
and just to recognize department employees who serve as shining examples of Hawaii County's
finest public servants.
