A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE ZONTA CLUB OF
HILO FOUNDATION TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO ITS “MAGNIFICENT ME” CONFERENCE.
WHEREAS, the Zonta Club of Hilo Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports the Zonta Club of Hilo and its mission to empower women and girls through public service
and advocacy; and
WHEREAS, the Zonta Club of Hilo Foundation is hosting its “Magnificent Me” conference at the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo on Friday, September 30, 2022, a free event which will introduce
100 middle school girls from various Hawai‘i Island public schools to confidence building workshops and strategies presented by prominent professional women serving as mentors; and
WHEREAS, the Zonta Club of Hilo Foundation is requesting funds to assist with expenses such as transportation, workshop packets, and miscellaneous supplies and materials related to the
“Magnificent Me” conference; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and programs that promote growth and learning in a drug-free and alcohol-free environment; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai‘i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying
the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant
to the Zonta Club of Hilo Foundation to assist with expenses relating to its “Magnificent Me” conference.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
